2012 tiguan low oil pressure red warning light on and off once and awile.?

What could be the cause of low oil pressure, intermittent? I changed out oil pressure sensor, oil pump and pick up tube. Warning light still comes on and off once and awhile. I could drive it for days without it coming on.

What's the value of my 64 VW beetle convertible ?

The condition is all there but not running for 20 yrs. The top is rags and tires flat. But the seats and radio and rearview mirrors engine and everything is there. I can't find any convertibles for sale. I knew it's be valuable so I held on to it. My neighbor wants to buy it. It's a super beetle and all serial numbers match. I have no idea the value.

Black or white VW polo? ?

I’m getting a 2011 vw polo as my second car. I’m feeling indecisive about which colour to go for, do you think black or white will look better?

    Are VW polos feminine cars?

    Favorite Answer:

I want to say that there is no such thing as a gender-focused car but I'd be lying. The minute VW decided to put a flower vase in the previous gen Beetles, they let the world know who their target market was. How many men thought that was a cool feature? As for the Polo, no. It is a car designed with economy and practicality as it's focus. That formula can apply to everyone! If it seems like more women are buying them, then it's just a coincidence. The car is not a feminine car.

Taillights won’t shut off, headlights won’t turn on?

2000 VW beetle l. I had someone put in a different radio and now my taillights won’t turn off thought it was because the relay switch wasn’t plugged back in, did that and now the headlights won’t turn on and the taillights are still on.

My 09 VW Jetta 2.0 TDI has a check engine light, any idea?

I got a letter from VW that my car has a recall. When I called the dealership to book an appointment, they asked me if I have a check engine light on, which I did. So they told me they have to get that over with first before they service the recall. My cousin is also a mechanic and he checked the CEL and told me its nothing to worry about, so I've driven the car for a year with the CEL and haven't had any problems with the car.

This morning I ran into my neighbor who's dad is a mechanic and I told him about the CEL, he told me he has a scanner he can look it up. So I hooked it up to my car and he told me there is a code that says the sparkplugs needs to be replaced. I also forgot to mention that when I drove the car last night, my engine was creating some unusual noise. So I continued to drive it a little bit to see if it would go away, which I think it did almost completely go away.

I haven't been driving the car much due to the pandemic, but my neighbor told me that since it is a diesel engine, they are meant to be driven often otherwise parts will wear out. Not sure if that is true. But can anybody give me some insight on my situation? My car's engine is a 2.0 TDI

How long should I let me 09 Jetta TDI warmup before I drive off?

I have an 09 VW Jetta 2.0 TDI engine, so its a diesel engine. My dad told me that I should give it more time, like 5 mins or so to warmup but I honestly think I give it way more time than it needs. I think I usually let the car idle for 7 mins at minimum until I feel confident that I can drive off without having any engine issues.

Or if I leave it to idle for about 3-4 mins, usually I'll drive off slow to let the oil circulate through the engine to warm it up.

So, in warm weather how long should I let it warmup, and in cold weather how long should I let it warm?

    Volkwagen Beetle Electric Issues?

    Favorite Answer:

The beeping for 10 minutes is a warning bell. Something is WRONG.  Shut off the engine on the side of the road or in the driveway...I would not LEAVE THE YARD until this is found out, wait about 3 minutes and pull out the oil DIPSTICK AND SEE IF THERE IS ANY OIL ON IT.   You are "Way past the IDIOT LIGHT WARNING" when you get the beeper or buzzer.

EHHHH DON'T RUN THE ENGINE!  It is on the path to self destruction.

The headlights are a separate issue...that has its own problem that is not OIL related.

See a mechanic and have the car towed there.  If you can't figure it out.  He can.

10 minutes is a really long time

2 minutes is a really long time

1 minute is a really long time

15 SECONDS IS A really long time.

THE WARNING SHOULD NOT GO OFF EVER.

(note,,,I am not yelling, I am trying to highlight it as being "important"

18 year old car - then I am guessing water is getting into the fusebox from the wheel well.   They made a weld mark there and that metal rusts faster so water from the tire is splashed up against the firewall which is the back of the fusebox.   First disconnect the battery(if you are going to do this work yourself.)  Now use a Philips screwdriver(or 8mm socket) and unscrew the fuse box from the firewall. Leave all the wires connected.  You want to see the back of the fuse box.   If it is full of dust(that is what you want to see).  If it is clean and a little rusty, then the water is coming through the wheelwell and splashing onto the electrical.  Road water has salts in it and that is like a wire so it shorts out across the fuse box. Some things work and some do not.  If the copper in the back is green, that is moisture.  The fusebox can still be used but you are going to have to disconnect clean the fuse box tang and wire connection and reassemble one wire at a time.  Another fuse box is over $100 (I am cheap and got time on my hands).  Might as well take out the driver's seat so you have more room  to lay down and do this job. (or you can pay a shop to do it for you for $600 - yeah as much as a motor job.  They will be doing the same job I am telling you.  Hopefully you got a garage or back yard and a canvas tent(a mini shop) to work in as this not fun.   While the fusebox is off the wall and you want other things to do, you want to pull the carpet off the firewall as it is glued there.  Get it right to the floorboards and you may find that the cushion underlay is soaking wet .  Your car smells damp because it is damp.  As you took the seat out you can feel that the underlay is wet .  Drag it out and hang someplace so it can dry in the sun. Which may take 2 days.

Now, I seem to remember that the fusebox was held down by a nut because all I can remember was the threads and the rot at the base where it was welded to the firewall.  This is where the leak is coming from, not the window seal.  If your fender has a plastic liner then you would not have this problem but the basic Jetta only has the metal firewall and is coated with undercoating.    I mostly had no wheel well liner but one of them did have a ww liner and that one had no electrical issues.

If you got the standard basic car with no ww liner then all you can do is TAR the heck out of that spot inside the wheel well.

. Now get back to the cleaning of the fusebox of rust, green corrosion and making the connections all good again.   This will take hours.  Plan on it.

. I am working from what I remember in a 1982 Jetta, & 1984Turbo Diesel Rabbit and 1980 Rabbit.   My turbo had the wheel well protection...so fuse box was dusty and carpet underlay was dry.

. You know when the car was first put on the road it did not have electrical problems so there is a reason for it.   The windows going up...I would fault the switch (and you can take them apart and clean them)  If there is moisture in the car chances are good they are either black or green with oxidation instead of shiny copper.  Drying out the flooring helps A LOT.

The Beetle is on a Jetta pan, so the electrical problems would be identical to the Jetta.  That is my expectation.

    Should I buy a 2013 VW Beetle ?

    Favorite Answer:

The fact that the main thing you tell us , is it’s white, tells me you need to take someone who knows about cars with you.

This is the third generation Beetle produced from 2012-19, and is based on a Golf.

Forget all the “ buy a Toyota..” answers , leave that to the beige brigade . VW are pretty reliable with either a 1.2/1.4 petrol or 1.6 / 2.0 diesel (UK, other markets may vary).

I would go for the 140bhp 2.0 TDi which is a great combination of performance and economy. Sure -VW fiddled the official mpg figures and you won’t get 65mpg, but you’ll get 50+ without trying or doddering round at 40 mph with a huge queue behind you.

However at £7500, a 2.0 TDi might be high mileage, so you might have to settle for a 1.6 or a petrol model.

I wouldn’t get one without a service history.
