Can a Company refuse to give their Office address and Similar information?

Question

We are a Leading Product/services supplier to Various Hospitals in Delhi.

Today for Knowing more about a new Corporate hospital group (www.columbiaasia.com) we called Bangalore, India Office(+91 80 4126 9701) to Know 
1. Where is your Hospital Coming up?
2. What is the office address in Delhi?
very innocuous/innocent and obvious question that anyone looking to serve a new company would ask.

Some lady  on asking the above questions, she said I’ll refer you to someone who might help.

I heard a Irritated male Voice on the other side; gave our  introduction and stated my queries, that person refused to answer any such query at all 
saying “ I refuse to answer and you are just a VOICE, I gave my introduction again and said you can check our credentials on web , he refused, on asking Who I am speaking with?, he says how does it matter, You have NO right to Know.

I wonder what philosophy are they working on.... public service or some Clandestine spying operation.

If it was a reversal, and they were the telemarketing company calling you, then yes they would have to give you their valid contact information. But since you are the solicitor then they have every right to deny you the information.

Yes they can. We also have a department at work who we need to redirect such queries to. The point is if your credentials can be looked up on the net, why did you not look up for theirs? However somebody saying how does it matter who I'm speaking can heppen only in India :)

Yes, they can.  They are not obligated to give every leeching salesman that calls their address.
