Empathy, compassion, good insight, good questioning techniques, and the ability to utilize self-disclosure so that it benefits the client and the therapy.

a great twisted sense of humour the ability to be in control of a situation but not domineering or overbearing the ability to listen with a sensitive ear but be able to detect lies and not be manipulated ..
