oh wow, this is a very tough question. reason being is that there are several countries that come to mind. if i had to choose to just three, i'd say that england/great britain/ united kingdom would be first, then i'd say france, and then russia. outside of these you could make an argument for china, greece, japan, italy, germany, spain, or the united states.

I think that because every country is different, each has a different history. Their cultures are different and there wouldn't be another place on Earth where you could find somebody so unique in their own ways. Each nation's history is colorful in their own distinct manner, whether it's viewed by this person and that person.

After all, that's how we get today's hundreds of countries in the first place. People who want to form or uphold their traditions preserve their values under geological boundaries. It's an amazing thing, if you look at it, how all these different groups of people with their own heritage can live together on one planet. This is a pretty interesting question. I have to admit that I'm curious myself. It's just that I can't make up my mind.

  • I think it is India.

Bcoz, it was plundered and conquered by various kings, in all times. First there were the various Rajput clans, like the Gurjara-Pratiharas, Palas, Senas, Rathors, Chauhans, etc. in the north. There were the Rashtrakutas and Cholas in the south. Then came the Turks--- Mahmud of Ghazni and Muhammad Ghori. Then the Delhi Sultanate ruled over us--- Qutbuddin Aibak, Iltutmish, Razia Sultan, Ghiyasuddin Balban, Alauddin Khalji, then the Tughlaq kings, and the Afghans. (Sayyids and Lodis)

After them came the Medieval kingdoms---Vijayanagar and Bahmani. And finally the Mughals. Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, Aurangzeb. Their constant enemies were the Afghans, the Rajputs and the Marathas (during Auranzeb's reign). After the Mughal reign came to an end, came the deadly British, torturing, plundering, looting, ruling India for 200 years.

So, I think India is the country with the most colourful history.

Difficult to narrow it down to three!

I'd go for Italy - from the ancient Romans through the badly behaved popes to the great dukes, etc, of their states during the Renaissance, etc.

Spain - mad kings, inbreeding, exploration of the New World, Inquisition, etc.

France - always did it with style, no matter whether they won or lost! Came over to England with the Conqueror, and started a long, colourful dynasty with the Plantagenets. Mad kings, mistresses, Louis XIV, the Revolution, etc.

Can I put England, too? And the UK? Richard the Lionheart, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Charles I, Victoria, etc.

I would say it is India. Because it has been influenced by various civilizations and still retained its stoism. It has different people speaking different languages, practicing different religions and bearing different climatic conditions.
