How do I stop Windows Mail from being the default mail handler in Vista?
I have a laptop with Windows Vista. I used to use Windows Mail as my e-mail client, but I recently installed Office 2007 and am now using Outlook. I have gone to Default Programs, and Outlook is set as the default mail handler for all mail functions. But when I click on a mailto link from my browser, Windows Mail still launches. How can I change this?

Though Windows Mail is used as the default e‑mail program by web browsers and other programs that support sending e‑mail, you can choose a different e‑mail program as the default. If you decide you want to change the default e‑mail program back to Windows Mail, you can do so at any time.
1. Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Default Programs.
2. Click Set your default programs.
3. Under Programs, click the e‑mail program you'd like to use, and then click Set this program as default.
4. Click OK.
****NoteThe first time you start them, some e‑mail programs display a message asking you if you want to use that program as the default. If you choose to do so, this program will become your default e‑mail program, even if you've chosen a different program using Set your default programs earlier.

a)right click on the free space of the task bar
b) Choose properties
c) Click on Start Menu tab
d) Check for Start Menu radio button is enable then click on Customize button.
e) On the bottom side of the new window Check The E-mail link: check box and select Microsoft Office Outlook if you want to use it as your default E-mail
if you turn this feature off then
just uncheck this check box
