How long will it take to tone up?

I am trying to tone my abs and muscles. Here is what I usually do on regular basis:

200 jumping jacks (not all in a row; I do 50 then take a break, then 50 more ect.)

Weight lifting (20 pounds total)

50 sit ups

Walking for about 20 minutes

About how long will it take to start seeing results? Will these exercises help? I am 13 and weigh 98 pounds.

You could start seeing some results within a few weeks--not drastic results, but small changes at first. You'll need to increase the amount of weight you're lifting as you get stronger. If your goal is to gain a bit of weight in the form of muscle, you should probably also take on a higher-calorie (but healthy) diet, otherwise you'll end up losing weight with all the new exercise.

You are only 13, so it might not take long to see resluts. Instead of doing your usual routine, maybe you should join a diving team; you tone up because you have to use every muscle in you body. An olympic diver going to the loympics this year is only 13, and has very defined abs. Try it and see.

to tone up or get bigger muscles?

to tone up, i would increase the intensity of the cardio (like jogging within those 20 min) and add many types of weight-lifting exercises that target the area you want to tone. also, as time progresses, add reps or number of sets or weights
