Who names Hurricanes?

Is it just the guys at the national hurricane center taking turns with their mother-in-law names?

Tropical cyclone names are taken from predetermined lists. These lists are compiled by the World Meteorological Organization, and the lists repeat after a certain number of years, unless a Hurricane/Typhoon/Cyclone becomes so powerful and/or damaging that it's name gets retired (There will never again be a Katrina, or Andrew, or Camille, or Wilma for example). The latest lists for tropical systems around the world can be found here: http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/tcfaq/B2.html

The National Hurricane Center does. They are part of the National Weather Service, which belongs to NOAA.

I live in South Florida where the National Hurricane Center is. I heard that the names are chosen by the staff that work there. By putting family members names in a hat and choosing randomly.

The National Hurricane Center does. They try to go boy, girl, boy, girl, boy, girl...ect. They also try to stay away from the names in the past that became deadly hurricanes(really bad).
