Our dog had a cuterebra larva removed from under her eye. How long will it take to heal?

She still has a large, hard lump around the area where the larva was. She's on antibiotics to prevent infection. How long should it take for the swelling to subside?

Apparently up to a month. I thought it might be faster.

Attached is a link from a pet clinic. Good luck.

"...Since the wound generally takes a long time to heal, Becky had to check it frequently to be sure it stayed clean and dry. We told her to come back in 10 days for a re-check. At the re-check, all was going according to schedule. The area typically can take up to a month to heal and it was well on its way."

    1. Remove the spaces before "peteducation" and before "com" and 2. Put both lines together in order for the web link to work:

It took my cat about 4 weeks to heel completely. She still has a scar however.

But the vet also gave us medicine for her... so that helped as well.
