Changing rims from 18" to 15"...any problems?

I have a 2006 Scion xB with 18" rims (tire size 215/35/18) that were installed when I bought my car. One of my rims cracked yesterday, and I've had nothing but problems with these tires/rims (4 tires blown in the past 2 years). So since they don't even make my rims anymore, I am just going to downgrade to some stock 15" Scion xB rims.

My question is will I have to make any sort of modifications to use the new 15" rims (other than get new tires)? I should just be able to pull off the 18's and put on the 15's, right?

Thanks!

Make sure the off-set (back spacing) is the same and that you have adequate clearance for the disc brake calipers and rotors.

As long as they are O.E. rims and the tire size is the same as on the owners manual, you have no problem. The neat question is, was the speed-o-meter re calibrated for the 18's if so , you will have to have that re accomplished as well. If not, you speed indication will be incorrect.

If they are OE Scion wheels and you use the original factory recommended tire size then all you have to do is bolt them on. No worries.

You should,nt.Make sure offset is the same, and not hitting rotors. You can get 15" tires size to give your ride height.

no you just got to the tire shop and switch. i assume you had low profile. try a higher profile it worked on my truck. and have the Rim repaired. alot of places sodder them back. for about 80.00. i have 24's and i hate the way my truck sits on the stock rims.

you have to be on better pot hole patrole! lol
