2005 ford f-150 COP 5.4 litre no power and codes set in memory?

Driving on the freeway and engine started to vibrate badly, lost power and can only feather the throttle to get vehicle to move. Miss fires detected in #3 and 4 cylinder and code set for cam angle sensor. suspect two bad coil packs, possibly more. Have heard that the 5.4 is bad for dropping coil packs. Any Ford techs out there that have any input on what may be causing the code for the cam sensor? Would appreciate any help with your experiences in this type of problem.

Update:

Have already put new cam sensor in, was told that this engine uses two, never heard of this before, any truth to it?

Before you spend more money on sensors, I would do a compression test between no 2 and 4 cylinders. Leaking head gaskets will cause codes to register.

    Fix the cam sensor first.
