webcam problem help.?
I have A4tech PK-836mj webcam. I have plugged it in and it works fine. I also installed the added apps that is on the CD. I don't have any problem using it -- whether I'm taking a picture or just viewing if it really is working properly.
The problem is when I'm using it on Yahoo! Messenger. I'm trying it out for a couple of days now but the webcam screen shows black, as in nothing. (Don't answer about having not enough light because I know there are enough lights when I'm using it.) I also checked it on the Yahoo! Messenger Help site but it shows no images also.
My cousin said that it needs a driver before I can use it on messenger but on the box it said "Driver-free". So, what do you think is the problem?

Try right clicking on the box where the webcam is showing you black, click on settings and click on the little webcam and select your webcam. Hope i helped.

Chances are the Messenger is not automatically recognizing your webcam. Go into your messenger's settings and look around in there; check for Webcam settings. If it has a default webcam, open that and make sure that it's set to yours. If it is and it still doesn't work, make sure that your webcam isn't already in use by another program such as Logitech Vid or Skype.
