Ok my samsung 40" lcd. TV has those 2 black bars?

Fox News has gone widescreen. My Tv is set to 16:9 but still has

those 2 stupid horirzontal bars on the top and bottom of the Picture.

How do I set the tv up to get rid of them without using the "zoom"

functons?

Go to your remote and press the menu. Look for picture setting and select full screen, this will eliminate the black bars on your tv. The 16 X 9 dvd has a different aspect ration for 16 X 9 and you will not be able to remove them using the full screen setting. Hope this will help you out.

Check your cable/sat box settings and be sure it is also set to 16:9 for the HD line in the box's menu.

Theyre should be a button on one of your remotes that says "format" or "screen format".
