casserole in an electric slow cooker all day, or all day in a gas oven on a low setting?

If your oven is a gas oven, then the electric slow cooker option is probably the most efficient way to go.
I can't tell you the actual wattage of either machine. This is strictly common sense and speculation.
It takes more energy to heat the few cubic feet of space in a conventional oven than it does to heat the small surface area of a slow cooker. The slow cooker (and the slow cooking method) is an underutilized tool in today's kitchen anyway! Good luck!

Electric is usually more clean and efficient and somewhat cheaper, I would go for the electric slow cooker.

Gas is FAR more efficient than electric for cooking. It heats quicker and the heat is more controllable. The only electric device more efficient would be the microwave, as it heats the food and not the oven.
