Why Yazid the son of Muawiya killed Imam Hussain a.s.and prisoned women and children of Ahlul Bayt a.s.?

Why Yazid the son of Muawiya killed Imam Hussain a.s.and prisoned women and children of Ahlul Bayt a.s.

What is the root of the history. Did it the hatredness towards Ahlul Bayt a.s. the Progeny of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. suddently started during Yazid's period?

Update:

@The White Horse should first learn how to pray, whether to put hands on the breast, chest, stomach, on the heart. And open both legs like pillars in the prayer.

    Salam Oa alaikum

Yazeed son of Moa’weya killed Imam Al-Hussayn because the Imam was a threat to his crown; Yazeed initially wanted Imam Hussayn to pay allegiance and homage to his caliphate. However the Son of the Prophet, being the Lion that he is, refused and said: ‘A man like me does not place his hands in the hands of a man like him’ – Yazeed was nutritious for being a fornicator, a drunk and a murderer.

Because Yazeed couldn’t get the Imam to Legitimize his Caliphate; and he feared of an open rebellion to over throw his rule; he killed the Imam’s supporters in Kufa and Medina – His army surrounded the Imam in Karbala; after starving the Imam and his family; the coward Ummayans killed the Son of the Prophet; placed his head and spear, and paraded it from one city to the next – They took his children, widows, sister and Son to Yazeed as war captives

The hatred started way before the Prophet, even. Hashim (The Prophet's (saww) ancestor) was the cousin of Ummayah (Yazid's (laeen) ancestor). Both were good businessmen, though Hashim was better than Ummayah. Ummayah decided to challenge Hashim and try and prove to everyone that he was better than Hasim, so he said to him, at the end of the year, whichever one of us earns the most money and is most successful is the better one. Ummayah lost. Hashim was the better one. Before the challenge, they had both agreed that the punishment for the one who lost was that he would have to flee from Makkah and live somewhere else, and also pay a certain amount of camels and money to the other. Ummayah had to do this. He fleed to Syria. After this, the Bani Hashim and the Bani Ummayah didn't get along with each other. Abu Sufyan Islam inwardly, although he claimed to be a Muslim. Same with Muawiya (laeen). Then Yazid, the worst of them all was publicly a Kafir. He wasn't ashamed to show how bad he was. He tried to make those things Halaal which were made Haraam by the Holy Quran and the Prophet (saww). He couldn't do this without the Bayat of Imam Hussain (as). Imam Hussain (as) wasn't willing to this at any cost. This is what caused the Battle of Karbala.

The initial core of the brutal murder of Imam Hussain(as) was instigated by hate and power. This was what it was all about, the fight for power, money and for the destruction of truth. Yazid was the utmost evil, corrupt, vicious, vindictive tyrant, who will always be remembered for his persecution and brutal murder of Hussain(as), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad(saw), and his family. People like Yazid, Muawiya used to fear the truth and their only motive would be to destroy it and any means for people to acquire knowledge and truth.

However much people try and end the remembrance of the Holy Imams(as) the more love is born within us true Shia's of Ali(as). However much they yearn to destroy their place in this world, the more we will remember them and their remembrance will last on this earth till the day of judgment.

Also like to add, I find it ironic Zubayr questions who betrayed Imam Hussain(as), the answer he's looking for is Shia's obviously, because we're the blame for everything and any trouble inflicted upon anyone. Then where were the Sunni's to back up Imam? If Shia's hadn't been there for Imam Hussain(as) then where were the majority of so-called Muslims?

My last point would be how they all claim to love Ali(as) as much as we do, then why is White Horse adding an implication of madness after his(as)'s holy name? Love and adherence, my butt.

the hatred started way before. they were against the prophet of islam because he was showing people the real way and the haters were losing power. all they cared about was power and money. so they wanted to kill imam hussain so they could have more power and preach the fake islam.

He was a sick perverted sadistic being.

Muhammad ibn Sa'd ibn Mani' al-Baghdadi, the renowned Sunni scholar, writes in his book, “Tabaqat Al-Kubra” (Vol.5 pg.66) regarding the nature of Yazid:

Abdullah bin Hanzala the Sahaba stated, 'By Allah we opposed Yazid, he was a Fasiq who copulated with his mother, sister and daughters, who drank alcohol and did not offer Salaat.”
