How long does a DLP TV bulb last?

I have a Toshiba 52HMX95 DLP TV. How long should the bulb inside last? Also will the picture be less bright if it needs to be replaced? Where can I buy a bulb if indeed I need a new one?

Typically, DLP bulbs last about 2,000 hours of usage, sometimes even less. Once the bulb starts to get old, your TV may indicate that it's time to replace it, and color purity may be affected: the picture may start to gain a dirty-yellow tint and may be slightly less bright. There are a number of AV equipment stores and websites that can sell replacement bulbs.

As long as the TV is taken care of, DLP TVs can last a very long time, except of course the bulb.

DLP bulbs usually last about 2,000 to 3,000 hours depending on the brightness of the tv is set to. The brighter the tv the less hours. The best place to purchase a replacement bulb would be the manufacturer. Hope this will help you out.
