After I download something on a mac...?
After I download something on my new mac, (i downloaded firefox), the icon for the setup appears on my desktop. After installing the program, i tried to delete the icon. However, when i right click it, the computer treats the icon like a disk drive, and asks me to "eject." How can i get rid of the icon? Thanks, i'm new to macs.

you eject it. if u want u can trash the .dmg file that u downloaded as well since thats just the install file, if you installed it properly the application is in the application folder and wont be deleted. if you do accidently delete something just drag it out of the trash. read these it might help if yur new to macs http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/tour/ if you want to know what the 'disc drive' is its called a disc image, this article might help you

You can NOT delete that icon - it is like the icon on a windows computer.
When you go to uninstall the program you EJECT that then trash it.
You can hide it i believe on the desk top - by right clicking.

Try restarting your computer and then deleting it. Sorry I don't know much about macs.
