My NATURAL tan looks yellow?

I've been trying to even out a tan for the past four days now doing nothing but lying out in the sun. [No sprays lotions or anything] but my tan looks like its fake because my skin is yellowish! I was told to tan more so that I will turn a dark bronze color but wont this just make me look even more yellow?

Update:

Thanks for the health facts but I'm not a 'tanner'. I actually love my fair skin and hate tans for cosmetic and health reasons. However I ended up with a farmers tan and a special occasion is coming up where I will be wearing a sleeveless dress. Hence the reason why the yellowness is something I just discovered. So no need to recruit, I'm already apart of the club =)

Try exfoliating, could be an outerlayer of dead skin that appears yellow.

Stay out of the sun for a while and wait til it fades, or actually use a natural looking fake tan, or just stick with the yellowy tan, does it really make a difference whether it looks fake or not? It doesn't matter whether other people think it is, plus you can just tell them it's not.

  • I would wear a neutral based foundation , a pink tone blush and bronzer to cancel out the obvious yellow in your skin . Of course don't go overboard , but this will correct the yellowness that you see .

Who told you to tan more?

Tanning causes cancer. Go to the FDA website & learn more about danger of tanning.

  • maybe it's because you have yellow undertones that show more when you tan . i would suggest a nice self tanning lotion like one by jergens or olay
