whats wrong with my guinea pig?

I have had my guinea pig for 4 days now i took her outside and fed her a leaf weed leaf is that okay? afterwards like i dunno 10 minutes she was shivering for 3 seconds occasionally and making a sound i never herd before. by night time she stopped. when i woke up i saw something that looked redish brown on the ground. It looked like she ran to the entrance of the door and spewed it out due to the dried up marks. i am not sure if it came from her bum or mouth. i am not sure what it was it was didn't look like barf as there were no chunks just plane liquid. my question is do female guinea pigs get their period. whats wrong with her. she seems fairly ok now just when i touch her bum she makes those whimpering sounds that they normally make. thanks for any insite you guys have in advance.

Update:

i am hearing alot to take her to the vet does anybody live in Toronto, Ontario and know of a good reputable fairly priced vet and also does anybody know of a vet insurance? what does it cost? this is my first new pet and didn't expect this comming

Well, Guinea Pigs do not have Gag Reflexes, so it must have come from her bottom. A guinea Pig has a very delicate digestion system. Shivering isn't usually good. If she's grinding her teeth you may need to take her to a vet because that is a show of agression meaning "Leave me alone or I'll bite!"

If she is purring or chirping try to give her a favorite veggie! Carrots, cucumbers, lettuce (NOT iceburg)

    or a little tomato.

I'd take her to a vet, there could be something really wrong or it may not have agreed with her stomach but it looks like shes sick. I'd get her to a vet ASAP.

Guinea pigs do not get their periods and they are incapable of throwing up. Maybe you should just let her calm down a bit before you pick her up or make andy big changes in her diet or living spaces. The only thing you can feed her that is growing outside is grass if it hasn't been fertilized or had any chemicals put on it. Good luck.

When i had my guinea pig, he used to cry when he went pee and blood would come out. My mom told me to wait a couple of days before i took him to the vet. He wasn't getting better, so we took him to the vet and they told us he had a stone in his bladder, and it was causing his bladder to fill up with blood. They tried taking it out, but it was too far down and he died :(... so i dont want to scare you or anything, but if she is crying and peeing blood, it could be the same thing. Maybe just take her to the vet just to be safe and to make sure everything is okay.

    Good luck with everything :)

  • Your mistake was: If you fed her something from outside it might have little parasites that can kill her, cause stress, ect. If i were you i would take to the vet just to be on the safe side (even if she is getting better).

She might have stomach problems, could be frightened from being in such an open space, or the weed could have chemicals on it

guinea pigs don't have their period.

I don't recommend giving your animal food from outside. you can poison her from pesticides
