Custom Domain on Blogger AND Web space?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could give me info on having a blogger blog but still using webspace in the background as well?

At the moment I can't figure out how this would work and I can't find anything on Google.

I have a hostgator account, but have set up a custom domain on my blogger blog and changed the name servers to suit.

If anyone has done this before or knows how to do it, please let me know!

I want to be able to host files on my webspace but still have the custom domain pointing at the Blogger blog.

Thanks for the help

If you want to keep the blog on your domain (yourblog.com), you can make a sub-domain that points to your hosting account (web.yourblog.com) to host all the files you need. Or if you prefer you can point the domain to your hosting account and make your default page redirect to the blog (yourblog.com/index.htm redirects to yourblog.blogger.com).

I do not know if Blogger's domains will let you do that, if you have troubles you can always transfer the domain to http://www.newinternetdomains.com/ because they give you total control over the domain name. It adds a year to your domain name and you do not lose any time http://easydch.com/transfers

If you want to shield the weblog on your area (yourblog website), you are able to make a sub-domain that points to your hosting account (web.yourblog website) to host all the files you need. I do not know if Blogger's domains will allow you do that, if you have troubles you are able to generally transfer the area to newinternetdomains website simply because they give you complete manage more than the area name. It adds a yr to your area title and you do not drop each time easydch website/transfers
