Installing Microsoft Office?

I got an Office program, 2003, from a friend who didn't use it. New in package. Trying to install it on a Vista operating system computer. Keep getting "requires elevation" msg in box after inputting the 25 digit code. Press OK and everything goes away, no install. Any ideas how to get this installed, and what does "requires elevation" mean--adding something to service pack? Thanks.

You need to right click on the file you selected to launch the installation and select "run as administrator". Elevated privileges is what springs to mind there - so that's what I'm guessing at.

a pc without disc force is extraordinary yet none the less there are the form to get around this. you are able to obtain a application like MagicDisc on the two desktops. on the pc insert the MS workplace CD and create a UIF or ISO image of the MS workplace CD. Then utilising a USB Stick circulate the UIF or ISO image over to the pc. on the pc mount the image and set up from there. this is the simplest way, yet differently is off the two your desktops are on an identical LAN community, you are able to insert the CD interior the pc, circulate to My pc suitable click the MS workplace CD and share the CD on the community. Then on the pc circulate to start > community and open your pc pc from there. you will possibly desire to be waiting to place in the CD with the aid of your community. in case you do no longer see your pc listed below start up > community then your desktops are no longer probable networked and you need to use the 1st approach. stable success!
