Friend will be going through a divorce. Husband just left 20 years.?
After 20 years my friends husband left her. She never worked and she is alone with their daughter. He has cut her off from all funds and she is still in the house but he cut basically everything off. Her parents are retired and is not able to financially take care of themselves and her and her child. What can she do and where can she go to get help for this situation?

She goes to a lawyer and tells him that her rights are being violated and start the divorce. Everything is half hers so she can take it. She doesn't have to leave the house , all she has to do is go get some state aid until the whole process is worked out and he has to pay her alimony, and child support if the child is under 18.

If she has the kid, she should be getting money from him. Once court comes, this wont look too good for the daddy. She should sit tight. She is being victimized. In the meantime, she should probably get a job to support her daughter.
