Blue Ray and Netflix?

How well do Blue Ray DVD players, routers, and Netflix work together?

Netflix says it can be accessed by a Blue Ray equipped DVD player, HDMI cable, and a router. I am told that Netflix claims thousands of movies available for streaming video, but that when using a Blue Ray, Wii, or game station, the selection is mostly limited to older movies. Plus, my tv does have a spare HDMI port, but is not internet ready. I do have a router paired with a cable modem system for my computer. I don't want to watch movies on a computer screen. Ideas? Experience with this?

Thanks.

Only certian makes/models of Blu-Ray players will support Neflix (and likely a sub-set for Netflix Canada).

Being a Blu-Ray player does not mean it will support Netflix.

If you have good broadband Internet, you can use probably netflix on a supported set top device rather well, using wired Ethernet.

I cannot comment on movies, but limitatons might be based on hardware capabilities.

in case you will spend the greater funds getting a blueray participant with netflix, then i might get netflix. i offered my mothers and dads a blue ray participant for Christmas 2 years in the past with netflix, then they cancelled their netflix suitable after. i could have stored $50 if I had widespread that until eventually now hand.

it depends on the blu-ray player. The selection is the same as their site

but it depends on your player to what will show up

My sister and I both have Insignia (best buy store brand) Blu-ray players with Netflix. She has an older model than I do

I have a search option. She does not because her player is older, outdated, and firmware updates are no longer being given for it

BUT............. She can go online and add what she wants to watch to her instant queue and it'll show up on her instant queue on her player
