Interacting with a ghost, outside opinions? [constructive plz. Don't waste your time and mine]?

This is bad. I had a friend who had a house that was haunted were objects moved and such. They started trying to comuicate with it through a ouiji board but got really strange messages from it. They tried to be nice as they could to the spirits because they wanted to help. Then it all fell apart. Glass shattering, loud banging on the walls, it all went to hell. Then everyone of the family that lived in the house where found dead one morning. They had all been strangled, no one was ever convicted. We believe the spirits killed them. Don't start messing with that crap.

This sounds like to me the type of haunting is intelligent. The spirit knows he's dead, unable to move on, and is also aware of the time he is in that there has been changes after he died a long time ago. I personally believe that there are such thing as hauntings. This spirit gets me to question it's character though. It is possible that this entity is not a ghost. Had there been any other disturbances other than slamming doors and tugging on people's clothing? Such as hearing voices or sounds without being heard from an audio EVP recording while being at the residence? Seen an apparition? Felt a sense of a presence when there is no one there with you? Come across any foul smells with no explanation what is causing it and where it's from? Personally in my belief, I don't recommend to antagonize and provoke a spirit to do anything or even try to communicate the spirit with an Ouija Board. Luckly nothing did happen, and even better luck if the paranormal activity disturbances had not even escalated into another level. I live in a house that is "haunted," myself. Things being moved around, things tossed off shelves, all kinds of things, including it touching my boyfriend a few times now. A lot of this has either both of us seeing it or even my extremely skeptical son and my brother. We have caught some EVPs, as well. It all seems pretty benign and sometimes benevolent. We are nice to it, and it is nice to us.

I don't really suggest an Ouija board. Not that they have any particular powers, as there is human intervention with the planchet, but because of all the emotional baggage that they bring. People see one, they get all jumpy and stuff and it's hard to be objective with all that. Objectivity is essential. You can't have your mind worked up all one way or the other. Just see what happens. A digital recorder is a good way to see if the sounds you are hearing also show up on the tape. We were relieved to find that many of ours do. If there is something there, do not make assumptions as to what it is. Approach it as you would a stray dog in the street. You don't know what breed it is, how it has been treated, its personality, if it is mean or if it needs some attention. There's a lot of stuff out there. You just don't know. Fortunately, there are a lot more bumps in the night that are purely natural than there are those that are "supernatural."

Most stuff is nothing to worry about, although if it is antagonized (you don't mention how) then it could get mean, just like that stray dog. There is bad stuff, too, although it is very rare to run across it. If this is the case, it gets complicated. This isn't something you can call the Orkin man for. Some go immediately for a priest, but what if it isn't Christian? Then all you did was tick it off. Sort of like going after a bear with a .22. You can bring him down, but you've gotta be dead on.

Sometimes, even if it is bad, you can find a way to live with it if it's not that bad. It's tricky, but some people do it. Obviously, it is what your friend has been doing. There is no shame in leaving sleeping dogs lie.

There are a great many supposed resources out there, but the trick is finding someone honest to help you out, and not just someone who like the excuse to wear black eyeliner in front of people. People will claim to be psychic, I have seen a "certified" shaman (would hate to check his credentials) someone who senses things because she is of Wiccan descent (a relatively new religion that is not generally hereditary in nature) any number of "Native American" smudging kits- to be passed up because we all know that abalone and sage don't grow in the same area- well, obviously not ALL of us.

You could check around any pagan organizations in the area, some Unitarian Universalist churches have pagan chapters, local "paranormal" or "ghost hunting" groups... Just remember- If someone wants money, that's a red flag. If they "guarantee" results- it's a red flag. If you feel uncomfortable, trust your gut. Again, this is all still hunting bear with a .22. The main thing in your favor is that if it truly is something very nasty, someone out there probably knows all about it, as it would be hard not to notice. However, it does not sound like you have a big problem at all. Try recorders or the computer if it works. If there's a "ghost hunting" group, you may want to talk to them, but I wouldn't worry too much about it unless things started to get too disturbing.

i get very strong feelings of fear just from reading your question buddy ...... ditch the ouija board and don't fool with it ........ whatever force or aura it is ... is way bigger than you and is capable of a lot more than anybody here could ever imagine....... imho that is .... and all i am is an extremely sensitive dreamer...... honest... ditch it.
