My clock and date on my HP Laptop do not keep the right Time and Date? Why is this?

This has been occurring for about 6 months now and I keep changing the time and date but it will not keep it for long.

    Your CMOS battery needs replacing. I assume your laptop is at least 3-4 years old?

    go to control panel check your date and time or double click the icon and edit

    easy go to control panel and fixed it there
