So many options :) I'll list a few phones, and what makes them sepcial.

Galaxy S 2: 8MP, 4.3", 1.2GHz duel core. Super thin and light, with brilliant colours!

Motorola Razr MAXX: 8MP, 4.3" 1.2GHz duel core. Even thinner than GS2, and has MASSIVE battery

Galaxy Nexus: 5MP, 4.65", 1.2GHz duel core. First Android 4.0 device (ICS), HD screen

HTC Rezound: 8MP, 4.3", 1.5GHz duel core. Beats audio = really loud, quality sound

just to name a few...if you wouldn't mind waiting though the Galaxy S 2 smashed the bar set by any phone, and if rumours are right, the Galaxy S 3 should be coming out late this summer and smash the bar again. Possibly quad core, waterproof, HD screen...

You should rather get an iPhone. More megapixels, high quality screen.
