Is The Hunger Games movie, as good as the book?

I loved The Hunger Games book, and have been really interested in watching the movie, however I've had mixed opinions on the movie from "really good" to "they messed up a lot."

I already know there is stuff missing and/or changed etc, but is it going to be a movie where I sit there and instead of enjoying it, I'll just ramble on about how wrong "this" and "that" is? (Eg; Eragon, win or a book, fail of a movie.)

I read all the books three times and loved them.

You should go see the film with an open mind and remember that no film can be as good as the book is. They do a really good job, IMO, considering they had to have a PG-13 rating in cinemas, they had to add stuff to explain it to non-fans and have it run in less than 3 hours. One odd thing I found was that as much as food is talked about in the book, you very rarely see her eat anything. Most of the crucial elements that I remembered from the book were in it (remember that Collins had almost total involvement in the production) and they did change some stuff, but it works OK.

Besides, consider seeing the film as a way to support an author you enjoy.

May the odds be EVER in your favor - Happy Hunger Games!

The Hunger Games is a good movie at least if you read the books. Several things were changed for the movie but you could tell it was made by people who loved the book.

one of my internet friends thought it was less good for people who did not read the book.

try examining the synopsis? Katniss is a 16-12 months-previous woman residing such as her mom and youthful sister contained in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the U. S.. previously the districts waged conflict on the Capitol and were defeated. As area of the resign words, each and every district agreed to deliver one boy and one woman to seem in an annual televised experience referred to as, "The starvation video games." The terrain, guidelines, and element of target audience participation might want to replace yet one situation is consistent: kill or be killed. even as Kat's sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps as a lot as bypass in her position. truly a gaggle of youngsters get filled in an area and compelled to kill one yet another and there can purely be one winner. I basically managed to make the completed situation sound like poop, besides the undeniable fact that the books are solid, and that i'll purely desire the movie will do them justice

As usual, the book was much better than the movie..

But I have to say- The movie was pretty good. I was impressed.

They left out a few things that I felt were important in the book,

and added a few things in that were not important.

The actors/actresses did well though, and they captured

    the book pretty darn well.
