  • Help with growing cuttings?

I bought some cut flowers and a few of them have roots, I've read that you seemingly can't regrow cut flowers (as in a bouquet) but I was wondering if it was possibly that these could grow. This is more a trial and error thing, these things cost like 2 for $3 so I'm not fussed if they die (considering they weren't bought to be planted anyway) but it'd be nice if they could become an addition to the garden.

Here's a couple of pictures of the flowers and supposed roots (I have no idea what they are aha)

If I was to prepare these for planting, how should I go about this? Haven't really tried to grow anything from cuttings except for cactus which mum used to just plant straight in the ground.

  • Is it possible to lose weight this way?

I don't want to lose a huge amount of weight quickly or anything, but over time I'd like to shed some kilos.

I work at a fast food restaurant which is understaffed so I'll find myself working at least 3, 8 hour shifts a week where I'm literally on my feet the whole time, running back and forth, and at times lifting heavy things, just constantly moving. I have noticed tiny changes in my body since I started working there, but my weight seems to be staying the same, probably because even though I try to make it the "healthiest" meal I can buy from my work, it's still not the best thing to eat. I often start very early in the morning (4-5am wake ups) so my breakfast is either non existent or something small like a yoghurt, I also never have time to make anything for lunch (my only attempts were left over salads which got extremely boring).

    - What are some easy, healthy lunch ideas I can prepare the night before?

    - & by constantly moving for so many hours (I do often work up a sweat) will I eventually lose any weight?

I've attempted going for walks in the evening but I'm often so tired after work I just go home and sleep. Would fitting in a few walks a week help?

Really I just want a way to lose some belly and leg flab without having to do a constant work out routine as I just don't have the energy to do that.

  • Allergic to pretty much all animal furs except for rats?

I currently have a dog, ferret and rats and all but the rats give me a hayfever like reaction. I know I get the same reaction from cats and probably other furry animals, but never rats. I usually need to have the fur touch my neck from either hugging the animal or having its fur stick to my clothes and irritate the skin around my neck to get itchy eyes/skin/ears/throat.

Is there a reason why rats would not affect me? They run around near my face all the time. Could it be due to their cleanliness?

And I get these reactions from pollen and dust so could hayfever tablets help me when I get the reaction from animal fur?

  • Nezumi rat vs nezumi mouse?

How does one tell the difference between Nezumi meaning rat, and Nezumi meaning mouse? From what I've seen they're the same Kanji (correct me if I'm wrong). How would you say I have a pet rat/mouse and have the person know you're talking about say a rat and not a mouse. Or even "I hate mice but love rats" ?

  • Like a one piece swimsuit but not a swimsuit?

Looking for the name of a clothing item, only saw them a couple of times in stores a while ago, they're like one piece swimsuits but they're not actually swim suits... You'd wear shorts or a skirt over it, I believe they're made of normal clothing material, too. Do they have a special name so when I google it I don't get bathers?

  • Why do some American authors write using "British English"?

I'm not sure how else to phrase it, but I've noticed some American authors write "mum" instead of "mom" or "colour" instead of "color"..."organise" instead of "organize" and so on.

I'd always think they're Australian authors until I look them up and find out they're American.

Is there a reason why they choose to write like this, and does this mean they pronounce them this way when speaking in person even?

  • How would I sell as poster on ebay?

I want to sell a movie poster on ebay, it's one of those giant bus stop/subway posters (roughly 4x6 feet).

I'm kinda new to ebay, usually getting a friend to buy/sell things for me (I had no idea what I was doing when I tried) so I was wondering how I would ship this item? I know I'd have to put it in one of those tubes, but what do I pick on ebay to do this and get the correct postage amount etc.?

  • Is The Hunger Games movie, as good as the book?

I loved The Hunger Games book, and have been really interested in watching the movie, however I've had mixed opinions on the movie from "really good" to "they messed up a lot."

I already know there is stuff missing and/or changed etc, but is it going to be a movie where I sit there and instead of enjoying it, I'll just ramble on about how wrong "this" and "that" is? (Eg; Eragon, win or a book, fail of a movie.)

  • Kenwood DPX-U5120 flashing protect?

My kenwood stereo is flashing "protect" and I can't do anything else except for ejecting a CD.

I'm not sure what caused it though it happend when I stopped, turned off the car but then quickly turned the key again so I could listen to music while waiting for a friend. I have a feeling that could have caused it but I have no idea what to do! I can't get into any menu's and currently have no idea where the box with the manual is. Anyone know what to do to fix this? If I have to unplug stuff, tell me what?

    Bleh.

  • Help in learning Hiragana & Katakana?

I'm taking up Japanese again (self teaching) and my friend wants me to help me them learn, too. I did a Intensive Japanese course last year for a semester but it was too hard for me as it was basically a years worth of information stuffed into 5-6 months and I'm a slow learner -____- but there was something my sensei's used to help us remember Hiragana & Katakana...

Uh my main question I guess is; does anyone know what this is called or where I can get it (a link would be great too!) it's basically all the symbols but they represent something? I don't know how to describe it...an example I remember is と and you basically remember a toe with a splinter in it or something like that.

Any one have any idea what I mean and know where I can get these online?

  • Weeaboo...? What in the?

So I recently learned a new word; Weeaboo.

I've kind of read about what it is, but now I'm wondering if people would consider me one.

I am a big fan of anime and manga, and have days where I shut myself in my room for ages just reading manga non-stop and watching anime non-stop.

I say Japanese words and sentences every now and then, simply because I used to learn it and enjoy speaking the language so I do pronounce most things correctly.

I have lots of clothes with Japanese writing on it, simply because I can read most of it unless it's kanji.

But now learning this word, I feel like I shouldn't express my love for Japan, their culture and their awesome anime and manga creations, for fear that I will be called (to me) this disgusting word by people who don't know me...

I'm a 19 year old white Australian female, who has a sickly obsession with yaoi and bishis.

Should I just never tell this to people or do I have to be considered this "weeaboo" thing?

  • Does the price of manga go up?

Okay so I bought a yaoi manga the other day called Dog x Cat, not seeing that it was the second volume. I took it home, read it, didn't even notice that it was the second volume until the end where the mangaka was thanking me for buying the second volume. It cost me $20, but the first volume I can only find on amazon for $425-$900....

Does that in any way mean the volume I bought would ever cost that much?

Would people actually pay that much for a manga?

Is this common in manga that isn't printed anymore?

Does manga ever get re-released, or have more copies printed?

  • Mammary tumour in rat?

One of my rats has a little, flat, soft lump that's randomly appeared under her armpit a couple of days ago. I always check them over for any lumps and bumps and this one appears to have come up suddenly though I can't be sure. I don't know how old she is, as I basically rescued her from a bad petstore that cared more about money than their animals, and all they said was that they're "all under a year old," this was about 6 months ago.

I don't want answers saying "Take her to the vet!!!111" I know this, but I currently don't have the money to do anything, and even if I worked it out by calling them and explaining my money situation, it'd still end up with me having to pay a lot for surgery.

I read a bit about lumps and bumps and I have a feeling it could be a mammary tumour. As I said, it's about the size of a 10c piece (dunno what that'd be in America, maybe 1 and a bit cm?) and it looks a bit rounded but it's more flat and rather soft to the touch. If it was to be removed, I read the smaller it is, the easier and cheaper it is, could anyone give me an estimate of how much I'd be needing to pay to get it removed? Thanks.

  • How to stop male ferret from smelling so bad?

I have a male ferret that stinks. Now I know that male ferrets smell worse than females etc. etc. but is there a way to make him smell less?

He has his days where he doesn't smell, but most days it's pretty bad.

I clean his cage regularly, and wash him at least once a month unless he gets into something yucky and needs another bath. I've tried a couple of small animal shampoos, and have recently bought a ferret shampoo which I've yet to try, but are there any products that work WELL?

If anyone mentions any, it'd be nice to get some that are available in Australia.

I really need a cure for his smell! Handling him makes my skin smell awful even after countless washes, and it's hard to let him play anywhere because he makes my house stink.

  • What are some good Teen/Young Adult romance books?

I recently finished 'The Kingdom of Childhood' by Rebecca Coleman and was wondering if anyone could recommend some similar books if they've read it.

To those who haven't, well basically I'm looking for a book about teenage romance.

None of those Twilight books, or stories about characters batteling cancer or some other illness and being sad that their lover is sad blah blah.

Fantasy would be nice! Like...Eragon with a relationship, making-out and maybe some sex.

Just a book containing two teenagers from 16-18/19, living in either "modern times" or some fantasy time (immortals, vampies (NO Twilight...please) people with weird powers etc.) and have a close relationship including a lot of contact, lul.
