Is it okay to let wild rats live in my house?

There's a wild rat in my house. Because I REALLY love rats, can I let them live here?

I can not buy a rat from the pet store (NONE of the pet stores in our country sell any rats). There are NO shelters or adoption centers in our country so I can NOT adopt rats.

The ONLY rats in our country are the wild house rats. And if I catch one, can I keep it as a pet?

And also what are the disadvantages of having wild rats in your house?

You can't keep it as a pet because it could have infections, rabies, mites, and other stuff because it's a wild rat, not a pet one. It can infect you if it bites you, and it will be very hard to tame it. I really don't think you should for your own safety....it can carry lots of germs and diseases.

You could consider flying out of the country to buy a rat and bring it back if you reeeallly want one, but you probably won't, so why don't you get a hamster instead? I'm sorry if I'm not helping, just some ideas to cheer you up on your rat issue.

The thing with wild rats is...it will never bond with you. It will fear you, bite you in defence. This rat will crave the wild and try to escape atall costs. This is a wild rat, born in the wild. Sadley wild rats don't settle as pets. Plus, he may die of shock due to the sudden change in environment.

And then you have diseases.....mites, rabies, germs, bacteria. Even a vet can't cure the rat of all these.

Yes you could but it would smell really bad and the disadvantage of having them is they can eat away at the frame work of your home and cause structural damage to your house
