Android uses .apk for there apps BUT what does apple iPhone use for apps, dot what?

I have both android and iPhone but I can't figure out what the dot extention apple uses so I can look for an older version of google+ because the newest vision I don't like and it gives me problems. I found older one on 4 shared dot com using .apk but I just don't know what to put after the dot to find an older one for my iPhone

    It's .ipa for iphones and.apk for android.you might get it in itunes.
