Is this joke acceptable or not?

I heard this joke from a friend's page on Facebook and I didn't really see it as an acceptable thing to make public like that as I think it would still offend people:

"A Jew walks into a bar.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Lol jks it was a gas chamber."

She then proceeded to tell "butthurt people" to mind their own business and that it's a joke and shouldn't offend anyone because all that Nazi stuff was way over with. Would you consider this ok to say in public?

Update:

P.S. this isn't America, this is New Zealand I'm talking about.

Peyton please shut it about all liberals being hypocrites. Generalizations are wrong overall. And btw...I honestly don't know how you can call others hyprocrites when you were up their bashing Hilary. And sadly, no. I never hated Palin because she is a women. I hated her, because she is an idiot who doesn't know anything and was ready to assume the mantle of the second highest job in the land. As for the sexist jokes. I honestly don't see what is wrong with any kind of jokes. But I have a line. I seriously don't understand why we have anti-semetic jokes and racist jokes, shouldn't it just be racist jokes? I mean isn't that all under one roof? Why it is that way, is interesting. I mean, I don't support it, I believe make fun of all of them as much as you want. Equally. The reason why is mostly that whereas the Jews endured slavery and death. Other countries have had their own struggles. But it seems to some people, that women although they didn't have rights, they were treated ok in those times compared to other races. For example, the women although had no real rights, they weren't kept as slaves if you get my drift. In many cultures they were treated with much respect, while it isn't every cultures,in most they were, which is why it happens. It makes sense, but that doesn't make it right.

It isn't even a joke, really. It's a cruel thing to say, disguised as a joke.

It's one thing if you're trying to make a joke about an offensive topic, like the chick below who's rape bit was actually pretty funny. And I have heard some holocaust jokes that were also funny. This isn't funny.

Even if it's set up like a joke, there's just no joke there. Why the heck would you be so cruel in public? Shame on your friend.

I find it offensive to put up in a public website. I know that it is facebook so only certain people can read it but it is still very offensive. Even though the whole Nazi stuff is over with does not mean it is something to joke about. A lot people died becasue of them and a lot of people still take it very seriously and she is making fun of it. Does this mean with in a few decades we should laugh at 911 terrorist attack? However she does have the right to put it up. It is not against the law for her to put something like that up but it is still very offensive.

Nothing that considers that nazism is to be forgotten and/or underestimated can't be a joke. Then it is not at all a joke, there is not any humour, black or not, in it, it is really just a pretext to make a filo-nazy provocation. And for that and not for being or not 'politically correct' joke who says that should be kicked out and ostracised socially.

Its not a funny joke but she has every right to tell a joke that isn't funny. I mean this is supposed to be America. No one ever said that we have the right to not be offended.

In America it would be really sick. But in NZ it's just normal everyday stuff. No big deal for them.

No, that seems really rude to me and the joke doesn't even really make sense and its not funny.
