I have a Windows 8 HP Pavilion laptop and it isn't turning on all of a sudden. When I press or hold the power button, nothing happens. When I plug in the charger and turn the power on, the charger light on the laptop itself doesn't come on like it usually does.

I'm not sure why it's done this all of a sudden. I woke up this morning after leaving it charging overnight like I usually do. I tried turning it on but no response. The only thing I've done differently was last night when I watched a movie by plugging it into the TV via HDMI for the first time. I also converted a 7GB video file, but I'm pretty sure that had finished before I shut the computer down. That's all that happened before I woke up and it wouldn't turn on. Like I said, I've tried charging it but no charge light on the laptop turns on. I didn't touch the battery at all. Any help would be great, thanks.

Whenever I try to save my game as Franklin at his safehouse and there is a F on the radar, I try to enter the house to go to the bedroom but it always starts the mission and never lets me enter the house. I know it's dumb, but I'd like to save my game without starting a mission! Thanks

Whenever I plug my laptop into charge, GTA 4 runs perfectly yet when I unplug it, it lags quite a bit. I turned my power mode from "power saver" to "Balanced" but that didn't affect it. This has happened on two separate laptops now, one Windows 7 and the other Windows 8. Can anyone tell me how to fix this, if it can be fixed? thanks!

I bought a new road bike and I hadn't used a Presta tube valve before. I've seen instructions online and so I know how to use it now. I unscrewed the top and pushed down on the stem (they were completely flat when I started so no air came out). I put the pump (a 100psi) on the valve, clamped it and started pumping. The air sounds like it's going in but no matter how many times I pump it the pressure stays at zero. I lifted the tyre (which says 120psi) up a bit and some air rushed out. This happened on both wheels. Does this mean the tubes are burst? Now what happened was when I bought it I also bought different tyres which they fitted in time for me picking it up. It was a few hours after I brought it home when I noticed the tyres were flat, since when I picked it up and wheeled it into the garage the tyres seemed full. I'm concerned that they might have blown or punctured the tubes when they inflated them after changing the tyres, which gradually went down in the time that the bike was in the garage. Thoughts?

OK so I was playing GTA San andreas on PC and I was casually driving using the W, A, S and D keys, I don't remember pressing any other keys apart from F and G to enter the car and sound the horn. I'm not sure if I used any other keys. Then a message popped up saying "cheat activated" and the scenery got a little more yellow i.e. it went from a cloudy day to a sunny one. Now I can't sprint or jump. I've tried changing the controls and the keys work fine, it just won't let me sprint or jump. Anyone any idea what cheat this is so I can deactivate it?! Thanks!

I'm not sure if I'm bipolar or not. I don't know if I'm going to see a professional any time soon so I would please like a straight-up answer. My question is this: does being in a certain extreme mood at a certain location suggest bipolar? When I'm at work I feel hyperactive and euphoric and loving towards most people. When I'm at university I don't have much feeling towards anything. Then when I'm at home with my family I feel dull and depressed and self-loathing and I don't want my mother to talk to me. My mum doesn't do anything majorly wrong, just little things she does tend to piss me off a lot more than they should. Does this suggest bipolar to anyone? Or does it suggest anything else?

P.S. If I were to go to a professional anyway I usually forget everything I was going to say or not be able to put it into words, so typing it up is a good way for me to remember.

So I got a new laptop the other day and installed GTA IV on it. The people at the computer store said this laptop (HP Pavilion) was more than capable of running most games smoothly (1TB hard drive, 4GB RAM, AMD elite quad core, Radeon 1GB dual graphics, Windows 8, etc.). I installed GTA IV which ran smoothly on my old laptop, which wasn't nearly as advanced as this one (it had 640GB hard drive, 520MB graphics, Windows 7). Anyway, when I don't sign in to Windows Live upon launch of the game, it runs a little slow for about 30 seconds or so, then runs smoothly from then on. If I do sign in to Windows Live, however, and I ask it to sign me in automatically every time, the game freezes at a blank screen with the Windows Live bar at the top and the game theme music still playing. I have to restart my computer every time because Task Manager doesn't appear when I tell it to. Anyone know how to fix this?

Lately my Acer Aspire 5750G has been playing up a bit. One day I turned it on after shutting it down as normal the previous day and it made all the typical 'start up' noises (from the laptop itself, not the speakers) but the screen remained as it was, completely blank. I turned it off and on again and it did exactly the same thing.

Each time I turned it on, the 'power' button lit up and so did the little light-bulb symbol below my keyboard but nothing else did (for those who don't know, the little 'hard drive in use' symbol is supposed to light up on start-up). Then finally after my fifth try, the 'hard drive in use' symbol finally lit up and my screen turned on and the laptop started as normal. I had my time on it and then I shut it down, only to be greeted by the same irritating problem the next time I started it up. I've shut down/started my computer four times since this problem began, and it took five, three, six and four times respectively to get it to start up as normal. Anyone know of a way to fix this?

P.S. My charger jack is also a little bit broken and for a while a couple of weeks back my laptop went through a period where half of the keys on the keyboard didn't work at random times, just in case they're to do with this problem.

Hi, my friend downloaded a game for me on my laptop as a .rar file. I opened it using WinRAR only to find that there was no .exe file for me to install this game, only 3 folders named CD1, CD2 and CD3. Each folder contained a large .bin file and a much smaller .cue file. My laptop doesn't have a program to open either of these files.

My question is, can I install this game using what I have, and how? Or did my friend waste my download for useless files? Thanks :)

So the hard drive failed on my 2012 Acer Aspire 5750G. This happened once before and when I got it back, it ran smoothly as normal. When I got it back the second time, I start it up, it logs itself on to the new hard drove's default "user" desktop, and all of a sudden a program with about 8 different windows starts up called "BurnInTest". I have no idea what it is, nor did I choose to launch it. Then at about 42% progress (whatever that means) the laptop shut itself down. Not just that, it switched itself off without the whole "shutting down" process. When I started it up again it said "Windows did not shut down correctly" and gave me the option of running Safe Mode. Anyone know what's going on here? I sure don't!

I'm in a situation where I find the phrases "I hate you because I love you" and "you don't have to like someone to love them" very appropriate. Expanding on the first, I hate both of us for me loving him. It's been almost a year since the break up and nothing has changed. I still love him, but not in the way you choose. I hate him for what he thinks he can do to me and other women. I hate myself for loving him, and if I could stop, I'd jump at the opportunity. I'd just love if people could answer saying they relate, and if they want to give advice, it would be much appreciated at this point in time. Thanks :)

I'm writing a psychology lab report and in my table is has columns repeatedly labelled "mean", "standard deviation" etc. and I need to reduce my word count and was wondering if I could put M for mean and SD for standard deviation, etc. after I've written it already?

In my lab report, there are some small facts that I obviously have to cite from somewhere, but they were just the basic foundation facts of our unit. Is it ok if I cite my textbook (from now) for these small facts? And is it ok if I cite one of my high school textbooks for a couple of other minor points? Or does it have to be a proper article or journal or book?

Everywhere I look, it seems that hoarse and horse are homophones. However, my mum seems to think that they are not homophones because they don't sound exactly the same in several English-speaking accents like Scottish and Irish. Can they still be considered universal homophones in the English language, even though they aren't pronounced the same in certain accents? Or can you technically refer to them as still homophones but only in certain accents? Thanks

I've made it up to mission no. 92, and through all that, the gameplay has been fine. The sound and graphics are absolutely normal. When I went to play it just then, everything is very slow and sticky. Even though I'm playing it on a 2012 Acer aspire notebook with Windows 7, it's worked absolutely fine for weeks until now. I don't remember drastically changing anything on my computer for it to do this.

It has been a bit slow and sticky on a couple of occasions before, but most of the time it's because I've been logged on to the laptop for a long time before starting up the game. When I shut it down and left it a while, the gameplay reverted to normal again. Now, when I start the game up after the laptop hasn't been in use for at least 12 hours, the game is now constantly sticky and slow. Anyone else had this problem and know how to resolve it? Thanks
