Tongue piercings take at about 2-3 months to fully heal but the rough period is the first 2 weeks of healing.

After 2 weeks the swelling and most of the discomfort are completely gone. The piercing feels totally fine even though it's not yet fully healed ( scar tissue is not formed inside).

Tongue piercing is one of the easiest piercings to heal and maintain without issues. If you can get past the first 2 weeks then you will enjoy this piercing very much in the future.

The aftercare is also super simple. Non alcohol mouthwash every time you eat or drink anything else except water for the first 2 weeks. No sea salt soaks are needed for this piercing.
