Green screen on Netflix and other videos?

I've done every solution I could find. It's getting really frustrating. I've had this laptop for several months and as far as I can tell, I haven't had any updates for the past few days.

Suddenly Netflix and other videos play nothing but a green screen, and audio.

I run Windows 8.1 and a lot of instructions say they're for 8 but never have the correct steps.

Somehow I feel I need to turn down the video accelerator because I see that everywhere but I don't know where to find it.

I've tried right-clicking on wmp and checking the display settings but none of that has worked.

As far as I can tell, everything is up to date and nothing is wrong with my video card.

Please and thank you.

I am very tired and my Netflix is my sleepy-time friend. :(

I have three ideas. Two of them may help you.

1.) You may just have to lower the hardware acceleration. See the first link for doing that.

2.) Either update or install a different graphics driver. Sometimes using Windows Update can find it for you, but I think often times it is best to go to your laptop manufacturer's website (like HP, Acer, etc), search for the model of your laptop under support, go to drivers, and download a display/graphics card driver.

3.) Your graphics card may be going bad. This is a possibility, but I agree that it's probably just hardware acceleration needing a tweak.
