  • Have you ever been happy to hear that someone has died?

    Even for a moment?

  • Abandoned my old car years ago, what would they do with it?

About 8 or 9 years ago, my car wasn't running well. I decided to move back in with my family, but during the drive, my car stalled.

We left it in a parking lot. A few days later my father attempted to tow it, but didn't succeed.

I'm just curious, what do you think happened to it? It was a piece of junk, so I don't think anyone would have wanted it. Would have it been junked? Can they do that without the title? (I still have it.)

    Just curious. :)

  • Green screen on Netflix and other videos?

I've done every solution I could find. It's getting really frustrating. I've had this laptop for several months and as far as I can tell, I haven't had any updates for the past few days.

Suddenly Netflix and other videos play nothing but a green screen, and audio.

I run Windows 8.1 and a lot of instructions say they're for 8 but never have the correct steps.

Somehow I feel I need to turn down the video accelerator because I see that everywhere but I don't know where to find it.

I've tried right-clicking on wmp and checking the display settings but none of that has worked.

As far as I can tell, everything is up to date and nothing is wrong with my video card.

    Please and thank you.

I am very tired and my Netflix is my sleepy-time friend. :(

  • How much is a shirt at a BSB concert?

I've been to a few but never had a chance to get one.

I know they're about $50 but if someone could give me an exact price, that would be great.

  • Help me find this book?

I can't remember the author or title, but I remember the plot vividly.

I read it in middle school, in the library, about 14 or 15 years ago.

The main character is a teenager. Her father is marrying a woman and she is moving in with them and the woman's teenage son (17 or 18) and 13 year old daughter.

She describes the mother as perfect. He makeup and hair are flawlessly in place.

The main point of the story is that she discovers her new step mom and her kids do not age.

At the end of the book, the mother and son die in a car wreck and the 13 year old sister stays with them.

I don't want this to get too wordy, but I hope I described enough. I enjoyed this book a lot when I was younger, so I would really appreciate it if I could find it again.

  • Connecting my laptop to my tv (HDMI)?

Everywhere I look seems to be only instructions, when I need troubleshooting help.

Basically, everyone seems to think it'll work as soon as I hook up the cord. I plugged it into HDMI port 1 and changed my input to that as well. I've seem to try all external display connections and nothing seems to work for me.

I only get the 'no single' for whatever I do. I've also tried HDMI 2 as well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

(I have a Sony Vaio that's a 2 years old and a Sanyo LCD that I just purchased last night.)

  • How fast does it take to receive your refund efiling vs. mailing it?

My taxes are done and I would simply like to mail it in, but if efiling will bring my return significantly sooner, I'll just do that.

    Any ideas? :)

  • Internet Explorer not working?

I know what you're thinking, "Why are you even using it?!"

    I don't, I use Chrome.

However, IE not working still affects me. When I play games that have updates and whatever on a game dashboard, the page doesn't load. I also I have live weather updates on my desktop and that isn't working either.

It's just an average "Internet is not working" message, but the Internet is working. IE knows the Internet is working, but my things still won't load.

    Any help would be awesome.

  • Why I'm tired all the time?

This has only been going on a month, tops.

I have been working third shift for two years. I also have a second job that I work a couple of days a week, usually really late second shift. Because I've been so tired, I've made sure I sleep the same time every night (or day). Sometimes I would sleep whenever on my days off or on my days I work my second job. However, since my tiredness has affected me, I've been trying to sleep better hours.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I'll drink a 20 oz. pop (maybe) during my shift.

I try to drink enough water, but my eating habits aren't great. I tend to only eat on my lunch breaks at work, and maybe snack when I'm home. I know that can be a cause my symptoms, and I've already decided to eat better when I do eat, but I'm still wondering about my fatigue.

I move around a LOT on my job. It gives me a lot of exercise. I know exercise is recommend, but I am very active.

My room is dark and comfortable. I have a fan for background noise and I usually fall asleep by the TV (I have been doing that for years.)

I have always had trouble falling asleep, but I've never had insomnia or too much lack of sleep.

There's been several times where I've stayed up for 24 hours because of work and then slept, but I don't think anything like that has happened to me recently. Same with having nights of only four hours of sleep or so.

I've been trying to sleep better lately, specifically because of my tiredness.

Sorry for being so descriptive. I just wanted to cover all the bases.

    Thanks. :)

    Almost forgot, I'm a 25 year old woman. :)

  • How can I delete this item on Sims 3?

I have a backyard slide on Sims and I want to delete it, but it says it's "in use" when it's clearly not.

Is there a way to delete it?

    Please and thanks!

  • How to find a list of all the Sims 3 characters?

I'm currently playing Riverview and I wanted to find more about someone my Sim works with. Her name is Noemi Bagwell (spelling is correct) and I can not find her on google for the life of me.

My daughter also married Dedric Hannah and he has a mother and a sister and I can't find his family either.

Is there an entire list of Sims 3 characters somewhere?

Unless the game generates certain unique characters per game and I didn't know that.

  • What machine should I use to clean my living room's carpet?

My mom is going out of town next weekend, and I thought it would be nice to surprise to clean the house really well.

I want to clean the carpet in the living room/dining room/hallway.

She already owns some giant Bissel machine, but the floor never seems perfectly clean after she's used it. I thought maybe I should try renting a Rug Doctor instead, thinking it will do a better job.

So, do you think I should continue to use her Bissel (maybe trying a new carpet shampoo?) or do you think a Rug Doctor would do a better job?

    Thank you. :)

  • My rat isn't acting like himself? Could he be dying?

He's not very active anymore. And it seems like this has only happened over the last week or so. He's having a very hard time climbing the ramps in his cage. When he goes to the top of his cage, he'll fall off the shelves. I'll have him on my shoulder and he'll just fall off and he never used to do that. He's still eating and drinking as far as I can tell. And he's just acting tired all the time.

I would suspect old age, but it's happened so suddenly. Could he have a major problem? (I've done some research, but I haven't really found anything that fits all his symptoms.)

  • Question about audio with headphones, etc?

Very random, but if you plug your headphones in a music player juuust right (like it's barely in but you can still hear music.) It will play only various sounds of the song. I want to say it sounds instrumental, but sometimes it is only a lot of vocals.

My question is, is there a way to record what I am hearing, or a way to mimic it using a music program?

    Thanks for any tips. :)

  • What's the name of this car part?

    I drive a 2003 Ford Taurus SES.

A little while back I hit a raccoon and it put a hole in what a family friend called a "power steering cooler."

I've had a lot of issues trying to find this part to buy, and mechanics that I've called never heard of it.

Is there another name for this mystery part?

It's basically a silver, metal pipe in the very, very front of the car. I believe it's connected to a hose, which doesn't appear smooth. I'm sorry this is so unknowledgeable and vague sounding. My steering isn't as smooth, as the hose it bent. My friend did repair temporarily repair the hole, though.

Any ideas at all? I'll add more details if you need me to.

    Thank you so much. :)

  • Uninstalling and re-installing Sim 3?

I think one of my expansion packs didn't install correctly, so I'm debating on uninstalling everything and re-installing it. I have 5 extra packs (Pets, Generations; and High End Loft, Town and Outdoor Stuff.)

If I do this, do you think I would run into any problems (even minor?)

Has anyone else had issues trying something similar?

I understand that re-installing things is simple, I'd just rather be safe than sorry.

    Thanks for any tips.

  • I ran over a raccoon and now my steering is difficult?

I ran over a raccoon on my way to work last night, and immediately me steering began to fight me. Just turning, it's just really hard to turn the wheel but I force it. I imagine I shouldn't have done that, but I needed to get to work. At first, I thought the raccoon was stuck in between my wheel and my car (ewww) but I didn't see anything.

There seems to be nothing too wrong with my car, except the center piece to my rim (basically decoration) seems to have fallen out.

    Any thoughts?

  • Should I get my male rat a playmate?

I just adopted a male rat from another family about a month ago. He's 2 years old.

I've read that rats do well with a playmate, but I was curious if I were to get him a male friend now, would they fight?

Or would it just vary rat to rat?

  • I'm looking to buy an Internet tablet?

I, myself, have a Nook Color and I LOVE it. A Christmas present from my mom last year.

Now this year, I want to return the favor and get her a regular Internet tablet. Something she expressed interest in, so she could use it anywhere.

Some look really good, but I can't find name brands. So I know nothing about them! I need to buy off amazon (I have a gift card that will knock down the price.) So I'm not looking to go over $100 (before shipping.) All of the ratings seem to figure out the same.

    Anyone have suggestions?

(And yes, an Internet tablet. Not a Kindle or anything. She's not much of a book reader.)

  • Help on heating a room in the basement?

Didn't really know how to word the title. Ha.

Anyways, we're thinking about buying a space heater for our basement. Just to heat one family room section.

What are some ideas of things we could buy to block a hallway entrance?

The only thing we can think of is to buy a shower curtain rod and to hang some cloth.

    Anything more creative?
