Easy to use metal detector?

I would love to start using a metal detector around my property but can't figure out which one to buy. I would like a simple one (not a bunch of fancy settings and gadgets and electronic stuff) But I would like one that would yield excellent results. Any price will do. (I am a beginner but can learn quickly!)

Jimbo is right, for 90% of newcomers it gets old quick. So get a real cheapie to start with, there are several you can get for between 50 and 100 dollars that still do a decent job. Or check newspaper ads and other places for a used one. If you get tired of it you can sell it for almost what you give for it. But you will not find one that is "simple" and "excellent" at the same time.
