Where should my story be set?
SO I'm writing a story set in 1890, America, Not England. It's in the south. (Not the deep south)
One of the characters is rich, but I'm not sure if it should be from farming or some other industry.
This of course effects the location, and how far from the nearest neighbor.
I'm not finding much in terms of town layout for this time that aren't frontier towns or cities .
Thoughts?

Kosciusko Mississippi. In history Mississippi was poor and had few rich people, it's not too south yet not too north. Either that or Kentucky
