Abandoned my old car years ago, what would they do with it?

About 8 or 9 years ago, my car wasn't running well. I decided to move back in with my family, but during the drive, my car stalled.

We left it in a parking lot. A few days later my father attempted to tow it, but didn't succeed.

I'm just curious, what do you think happened to it? It was a piece of junk, so I don't think anyone would have wanted it. Would have it been junked? Can they do that without the title? (I still have it.)

Just curious. :)

When a car is abandoned on public property, the law gives the owner of it a certain amount of time to move it. Usually it is 72 hours. If it is not moved, the local law enforcement can have it towed, when it is towed, the tow company applies for a title by completing a legal process. When this process is done, the tow company then can sell it, part it out, or sell it as scrap metal.

Depends on the lot but it may still be there it may have been towed and you have tickets. I know a guy whose car broke down in the parking lot at my job and it sat there for two years before he sold it and someone actually had the money to tow it. But if it say there for much longer I'm sure it got ticketed like abandoned cars on the highway then eventually towed to a junk yard. Better check your record and make sure there isn't a warrant for unpaid tickets or something like that.

I remember that car well. They towed it to the Bruins Brothers junk yard and it was crushed and sold as scrap to a salvage yard in Timbuktu.

I'm sure everyone here remembers your car.
