With the exceptions of promotions such as Double December (where answers receive 4 points and Best Answers get 20 points) then it's always the case that you get 2 for answering and 10 for a Best Answer.
That is a standard receipt and there's no way to "choose" how many points you want someone to get. It is a suggestion which has been made many times over the years, but to date staff have not picked up on it.

Yahoo answers team is doing no such thing. The site is programmed to give 10 points for a best answer, 2 points for an answer, 1 point daily for signing in, 3 points for picking a best answer to your questions, and minus 10 if you don't follow the guidelines and get reported.
Also, if one of your answers is picked as best, you get 10 points plus 1 additional for every thumbs up on the answer, up to 50.
Yes, it's possible to have an in between grading, but it would require changing the program and that's not likely to happen.

yes . An user gets one point per thumbs up!'
It is added to the score if the user gets the best answer .

It is possible, but it would be a computer coding nightmare. It is a feature Yahoo would just not want to tackle.
