yes it takes transmission fluid. yes it does need to be changed but one of the biggest reasons manufacturers deleted dipsticks is to cut costs and getting customers to return to dealers for any kind of work. if you want to get it checked or changed you can go to the dealer or find local shop at ATRA.COM for more help

a lot of cars (and USA and Toyota) trucks have done away with the dipstick.  I think that's REALLY wrong.

All transmissions, including manuals, use some sort of transmission fluid or gear oil.  With all the moving parts within a transmission, you need the fluid for lubrication and cooling.

A lot of the clunkers made after 2000 eliminated the dipstick for some stupid reason. As if they would never leak or need service. Usually there's a steel plug in the tranny on the driver side that allows you to check the fluid level or refill the tranny after servicing it. Each model is a little different on where the plug may be located.

No dipstick.  Car uses a "lifetime" fluid.  You will need to see a dealer or a mechanic with a lift to get the fluid changed.  The temperature of the fluid is important to get the correct servicing.

That vehicle does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. These types of transmissions are designed to be maintenance free. In order to check the transmission fluid, your vehicle likely has check valve on the bottom of the transmission on the bottom of your car. Your car must be level when the fluid is checked and i therefore recommend having a mechanic with a hydraulic lift or underground bay check your transmission fluid.
