What does the United States gain from its relantionship with Saudi Arabia?

    The USA used to buy a lot of oil from Saudi Arabia. When the Saudis boycotted the USA by refusing to export oil to the USA in the 1970s, there were long lines at gas stations. The Saudis are hostile to Iran, our enemy. Having another friendly country in the Middle East is better than having another enemy.

    Actually, Trump is the one who's making gains, because of his pre-presidential business relationship with them.  That's why Trump turned a blind eye to the Saudi Prince's ordered murder of an American reporter.  

    Also, Saudia Arabia does sell oil, which would benefit any country.
