Uhh no it's not considered luxury at all .The acuras may be seen as more luxurious That's about it The fact it has more amenities than a  entry level MB .Key word is entry level MB The ones your asking about are to compete with cars like honda or toyota If you were gonna buy a Mercedes A proper one it'll have much more stuff than any honda could ever be sold with Your thinking of the entry level crappy MB that never did come with too.many things anyway .The Honda while nice can't compare to MB except in class size only the Honda isn't a luxury vehicle Comparing a lower class MB to a Honda it's still below the MB in my opinion. I always thought honda cars to be overrated tin cans on wheels anyway But that's my opinion.

The same is true today. The Honda is a Honda, the quality of workmanship just is not there when compared to that of a Mercedes Benz. I used Daimler and Benz because Mercedes Benz as such did not exist. What we know of as Mercedes Benz is the result of the companies Daimler and Benz combining.
