Does history really try to repeat it's self?
In 1923, person of interest also stormed his country's congress but was not successful and was caught and tried for treason and begged for mercy. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and released less than a year in his sentenced for good behavior. His name was Adolph Hitler!
@1465, I have done research on Hitler and know of German's economic conditions during Hitler's time line! I do think that if the allies were to have better helped Germany after WWI, that Germany in all probability wouldn't have started WWII. The timing and depression Germany was going through was just right for someone like Hitler to take advantage of and make himself German's salvation.

Yes, since 1953 the last 10 recessions in US history started under a Republican President using the laissez faire/trickle down economic policy. That economic policy makes the rich richer in the short term but then leads us into a recession. (Not to mention, in the 1920s Republican Presidents Coolidge and Hoover also used laissez faire economics and it lead us into the Great Depression.) Anyway, Republican politicians don't learn that lesson and they keep repeating it. I guess it's the part about making them richer in the short term that makes them keep using it.

If you'll do a little more research, you'll learn what Germany's economic position was in 1923 and it wasn't good.
And do you even know why Hitler opposed the government?
You have a lot to learn. Believing what you're told to believe is what has gotten this country in the mess it's in now - people don't think for themselves.
History is in fact repeating itself.
The main thing Hitler opposed was Communism and Germany suffered for it.
Trump also opposed Communism - and you see what's happening.
Funny that in both cases, the ones who supported Communism were called "Democrats".

No.
A lot of it is variations on a theme.
Drawing direct parallels can be dangerous and counter-productive because it may ignore the specific circumstances.

Isaac Asimov once published an essay pointing out repeated historical parallels. It is also said history is first a joke and second a tragedy. Trump is more like Benny the moose than Herr Adolf.
