There should be plenty of room to fit the Chevy tranny in the bed of your Yoda Truck for transporting it, but it will not work if you try to install it without major modifications.

Not likely, but the 5-speed trans in my Ford Ranger fits in a Mazda!  It also uses ATF.

If you have the skill, money, and patience to do the job, it can be done. Where there's a will there's a way, right?

However, to install a GM transmission in a Toyota, you would have to do a lot of modifications (custom transmission mounts, new custom drive shaft, cutting and/or welding on the truck itself. Even if you manage to make the new transmission fit, the Tacoma's computer systems will reject it, causing all kinds of problems. I know people do stuff like that on TV and Youtube all the time, but in real life, it would be foolish to take on such a project.
