UK transit rules clarification?

If you're travelling from Pakistan to the UK and transiting through Abu Dhabi (stay is 2 hours). Would you still need to quarantine in a hotel for 10 days?

Pakistan is not on the red list whereas the UAE is.

    Yes, you would if your plane had come from the UAE.

    You will need to it's stated here that if you travel from or through a country on the red list

    Who the hell knows?  I am sure someone in the government must have decided.  If I were you, I would check with the British Embassy or your airline if they have any idea.  On the UK gov website it says:

    Red list travel ban countriesIf you have been in or through any of the countries listed below in the previous 10 days, you will be refused entry to the UK.

    Airside might not be considered being in the country, but knowing our government, they will um and ahh until someone makes a decision.
