(GORY OPEN WOUND) WARNING DO NOT OPEN IF SCREAMISH!) Huge cut on my arm, will it heal? ?

I have a HUGE cut on my arm that I did accidentally a week ago now, it DEFINITELY needed stitches as I cut all the way down to the fat but like an idiot I left it. It has come out like this today but I don't think it can be stitched anymore. I don't know what to do because I knew it would heal without stitches but the scab came off too early and now it looks like this, will it heal on its own or will it always remain open? Sorry for the horrible picture too

It’s too old to suture like that. Sometimes they can be re cut and sutured. Yes, it will heal, it’s called secondary intention, and it will take time.

You should see a doctor.  Don't just assume that you know what to do about it.

More then that, the doctor is going to want to put you in the psych ward, because you did that on purpose.  Forget everything you've seen in movies, the psych ward is actually a very nice place.  And now days they only keep you there for 3 to 8 weeks.  Long enough for the new medication to start working.

People like you and I don't have the luxury of saying "I don't want to be on medication".  You just have to accept that it's part of your life.

No, you can't get it sutured now, because the wound is too old and the tissues are already dying. And you know damned well that wasn't accidental. See a shrink about your suicidal tendencies/ cutting habit.

Yikes! It will heal faster if you get it stitched up. It will be less prone to infection too. Otherwise, keep it clean and covered and apply antibiotic salve to it each time you change the bandage.
