  • It's up to you. Do what ever you want to do, it's your life.

I just don't agree with your view of it.

By the way I make over that in a year of fraud / what you call working.

You know that what you are doing is unemployment fraud, right?

You aren't eligible for unemployment unless you are actively looking for a job and willing to accept a job.  You don't get to "choose" not to work during covid and keep getting unemployment.

If you don't want to work at in-person job during covid because of the risk, then you were required to look for a remote based job.

It's pretty uncool that you are proud that you used the lack of oversight of the current system.

As the saying goes, "karma will get you" so I expect that the pandemic did not give you a chance, instead it's going to come back to bite you.  Maybe unemployment will eventually come back and audit you and you get to repay the $30,000, become ineligible for UI for a period of 3-10 years, and other consequences of committing this fraud.

In response to all the yelling:

Getting unemployment is not fraud.  It's a benefit that you get.

But each week that you certify you have to specify if you were "able" to work, if you "looked" for work, and if you were "willing" to accept work.  You have to answer "yes" to those questions to get unemployment.

= if you put "yes" but you aren't really = then that's the unemployment fraud.

We treat our disabled and elderly low income like crap == they get at most $755 a month from the federal government to live on.  If there wasn't so much fraud from people like you, we would actually be able to take care of them properly.
