Regarding Y!Answers policies for deleting responses?

I recently had an answer deleted for no good reason at all. I'm still waiting to hear specific reasons for why they deleted my answer, but I don't expect to get any. The first answer they sent to my inquiry was deliberately evasive.

Anyway, I just find it interesting that they would delete one of my answers but allow answers from posters like Jackal and the Astaroth imposter to remain up. My answer was somewhat pointed, but in comparison to the trollish responses that are proliferating on here lately, it was quite benign.

I'm curious to hear stories from any of you who've had similar experiences with the YA moderators.

BTW, it's not losing the points that bothers me about this. It's the obvious hypocrisy and double standards.

Update:

Apparently I wasn't very clear above. I wasn't looking for advice about what I might have done wrong. I'm just curious to hear what experiences you all have had where Yahoo removed a response of yours in error (and followed a hypocritical double standard while doing so).

First, did you use what they said in the email?

    That rarely works.

To find out, go to the Forum, then Wrongful Deletions; that gets responses.

    But first, read the Guidelines.

Not answering the question, for instance.

Frankly, this one, which mentions other users by name violates the Guidelines (I think).

About your charge of double-standards, it's up to us to report abuses (a lot of people never do).

    Then there the time lag.

I often put questions I report in my Watch List to see whether they get removed.

It takes anywhere from hours to days.

So, read the guidelines, if you think you didn't violate them, complain at the forum; and report all abuses you see.

I've had 4 violations myself; two were legit; two bogus removals (one was reversed, though they don't put the post back, just give you the points and an apology).

They do goof up, but my impression is that they've gotten a LOT better.

But most people just aren't familiar with the Guidelines -- not all of them are obvious, and they HIDE them.
