have you ever been discouraged?

have you ever been discouraged answering coz most askers do not choose the best answer?

i feel so dismayed especially when it took me a lot of thinking and pain in order to come up with a good answer.

nena doesn't like questions that go into voting. but sometimes askers have no choice coz sometimes they forget or couldn't log on to close their Qs on time.

i know we take some effort answering and we even do some research too (hehehe, googling) and it's not fair that askers don't bother to pick BA. they don't have to choose me but at least i wanna know that they read my answers. and one sure way of knowing that is when they check on their Qs to pick the BA.

Discouraged no, especially if you are just genuinely inclined to provide help to somebody in need or in need of an answer.

And I agree with somebody above who said that some peope-depending on the type of q, aren't really looking for a BA for they know the answer already or are just looking for an answer that they wanted to hear.

But anyway, the feeling that I might sometimes feel at specific times when you do know the answer to a q & you even did a little more of research just to give an answer that would not only be easy to understand but also doubled checked for accuracy & then the asker picks someone who gave a single sentence answer to a Why or What-is-your-opinion or What-do-you-think type of Q is disappointment, especially if you were given a special mention by the asker on their comment as a feel good gesture.

And so I have learned to just feel good no matter what or just be really selective in answering qs.

Over confidence and too much "bilib sa sarili" is usually the culprit of the feeling of discouragement and rejection. In order to avoid the pain, answer the questions and forget all about it..Don't keep checking your answer to see how many thumbs up you got. If you do, you are bound to be disappointed. Best wishes to you.

No, because I answer questions so I can help, not to garner points. Besides the asker is the one who determines the best answer, not the answerer.

In the Sciences section, probably I might get dismayed if a wrong answer is chosen over a correct one. Then again, correct doesn't always equate to "best". It's always the asker's call.

I figure that people who ask a question already have an idea of the answer that they are looking for. Sometimes they do not wish to read what is the proper way of going about something or doing something.

I got very discouraged after giving advice to someone and they singled out my answer and actually verbally abused me and called me a very nasty name - I though the advice was valid but he thought otherwise and took it very personally and was very mean.

If you become discouraged, think of it in these terms, perhaps the writer will not like your answer but perhaps your advice will help someone else reading the answers.

No. I actually got several best answers because I voted for myself when the asker did not pick a best answer.

no, i don't take yahoo answers too seriously. i learn a lot from it but i double check answers and do my own research from the answers given. yahoo answers makes learning fun.
