Jewelry - is not an investment. It is something you wear. Ever tried selling it back to a jeweler?? If you get 10% of what you paid, you are doing good.
Furniture - no, it depreciates. Unless you are buying antiques.
Land & houses - appreciate, but generally only with the rate of inflation.
Stocks & mutual funds are the best investments. They appreciate greater than the rate of inflation.
