What do/did you do with 1 boob while the other one was breastfeeding?
While I'm nursing on 1 side the other side is leaking like a garden hose. Surely I'm not the only one with this problem! I have to hold a cloth diaper up to it to keep it from leaking everywhere. There has got to be a better way. What do/did you do when you had this problem?
She will be 11 weeks old on Sunday.
We switch off between bottle & breast. I've got so much breastmilk in the fridge/freezer it's not even funny!
The holding a bottle under it idea sounds great, but the problem is her preferred position is side-lying & that would make it difficult.
Breast pads are laughable in this house. They're ok for between feedings but while I'm feeding with 1 breast I can fill up a breast pad with the other breast in about 2 minutes.
I've considered donating to a milk bank but you have to commit to 100 ounces a month. That would be fine if I was not feeding my daughter, but as long as I'm feeding her there's no way I can produce enough for her + 100 oz./mo. for the bank too!

LOL!,This happens to me too,it simply pluthers out one while feeding on the other,However..pretty much do the same as you.
Breast pads are good to use,I normally double up and put two in per breast but still often have to put a hand towel there because there's so much!.
I know some may recommend catching it in a bottle (waste not want not and all that!),but of course this may not be an option if you wish to exclusively breastfeed,,it wouldn't be worth putting your baby off the breast by using a bottle too.So I wouldn't worry about it,you obviously have a healthy milk supply,just keep mopping up!...The joys of motherhood lol!!

I only pull out one boob at a time while feeding. The other one stays covered in my bra with a nursing pad so if it leaks it will be absorbed by the pad. Another thing you could to is hold a bottle there and let it drip into it and save the milk.
I'm a new mom and mine don't always leak but I have hears this goes away once your body gets on a definite feeding schedule. So hopefully the leaking will end soon.

I used to hold a clean bottle & pop it in the fridge just incase. Not that she ever took a bottle but hey it was there in case of emergency.
Have you considered registering at a milk bank?
If youre in early days dont worry it should calm a little as you both get into the swing of just how much she needs. Though with my 3rd slowing down ment fire hose abated to a garden hose ...still anything was an improvement, if only Id had the same prob with my 1st!

Well I'm not an expert in this field but I thought I need to help you.
Try collecting that leaking milk in a container and use it to feed your baby the next time.

initally when u begin breastfeeding and the milk sets in this tends to happen cos ur body doesnt know how much milk to produce. as ur baby nurses, ur body will know how much quantity of milk to produce and will fine tune itself. do not pump this over flowing milk as pumping is suction stimulation and the suction will only encourage the body to produce more excess milk.
